Onward Journey From the Airport
The only way out of Keflavik Airport is by road so you are limited to the airport transfer bus, taxis and hire cars. It’s five miles from the airport to the main town and the roads are clearly signposted Keflavik in English and Icelandic. Reykjavik, the capital, is fifty kilometres away and again clearly signposted.
Driving Conditions
For much of the year you’ll find it cold and snowy or cool and rainy. In winter, driving isn’t as daunting as you might think as the main roads are regularly cleared but all our hire cars can be equipped with snow chains or winter tyres should you be caught in a sudden snow storm.
